Beach day program

The program generally goes something like this.

One Tuesday a month we have beach day. People are beginning to arrive around 4.30 PM and gather at the beach to swim or play in the sand. After that w e have yoga for the kids. The day concludes when we sing a song to open the table and we share a vegetarian meal. Please bring reusable containers. Every week we put the containers left behind into the closet so you can get them next time. Food leftovers go the compost. People leave around 6.30 PM with a feeling of love for nature, their fellow yogi’s and a sense of peace.

Garden day program

The program generally goes something like this.

Every Tuesday people are beginning to arrive around 4.30 PM. At 5 00 PM we have a story time with puppets in the garden. After that we always stay in the garden to do some sort of 'work' to be done in the garden: planting, weeding or harvesting. Kids join in or play happily around us. The day concludes when we sing a song to open the table and we share a vegetarian meal. Please bring reusable containers. Every week we put the containers left behind into the closet so you can get them next time. Food leftovers go the compost. People leave around 6.30 PM with a feeling of love for nature, their fellow gardeners and a sense of peace.

Gardening

Sharing a meal

Welcome to the garden and beach day blog

Just over a year ago I met three wonderful women Jamie, Else and Nadine and suggested that we share some gardening with our kids. Else immediately agreed to host a vegetable plot in her back yard. It was such a fun time watching a bare plot turn into beautiful and productive garden. Jamie and Nadine have moved away from Guam now but their dreams live on. Garden Day has grown from such humble beginnings to include many families. Each week mothers (sometimes dads) and their children, who come from all over the world, gather to share the magic of garden day.

Feel free to search around our blog. You will find information on our original dream, child hood development information that we draw on when telling and writing our stories and planning our gardening activities. We have many photographers in our group so please enjoy the images that tell a thousand words!
